OFFICE OF STUDENT AFFAIRS

 

  1. Introduction

Established in 2007, the Office of Student Affairs is an advisory division assisting the University Management Board in implementing policies, scholarships, tuition, commendation-disciplining students; student advice (study, life, accommodation, employment, …); managing student records, managing non-resident students during their study at Saigon University; advising education enrollment and job survey of students after graduation.

Advising the Rector on the educational management of students, and overseas students (hereinafter referred collectively to as students)

  2. a) Duty of management and education of students:

1) Receiving and managing student admissions and enrollment records; implementing policies and regulations for students according to regulations.

2) Spreading propaganda, political and ideological education, preventing social evils; organizing and conducting Students’ Week.

3) Managing the students’ training and learning process; managing data on students’ training results.

4) Receiving and carrying out the procedures for moving, registering for military service for students.

5) Coordinating with the Faculty to mobilize students to participate in extracurricular activities inside and outside the University.

6) Coordinating with the Faculty, academic advisors, administrators of classes, and students’ families to well implement the education as well as to handle students’ violations.

7) Managing the work of emulation, commendation, and disciplining of students; considering exemption and reduction of tuition fees as well as offering scholarships for students, solving unexpected school absences in accordance with the University’s regulations; proposing the resolution for student dropouts.

  1. b) Other duties:

1) Drafting documents related to student work (reports, decisions, instructions, notices, plans, etc.)

2) Planning training courses; managing and assigning tasks, evaluating officials and employees of the division according to the management decentralization.

3) Managing and using public properties for the right purposes effectively as prescribed.

4) Performing other duties assigned by the Rector.
