Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony between Saigon University and Western Sydney University

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING SIGNING CEREMONY BETWEEN SAIGON UNIVERSITY AND WESTERN SYDNEY UNIVERSITY

On the morning of November 10th, 2023, Saigon University held the Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony between Saigon University and Western Sydney University. The event marked the official establishment of a broad cooperative relationship in education, training, and research between the two universities.

Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Australian Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City, including Ms. Rebecca Ball, Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner, Australian Trade and Investment Commission, Australian Consulate-General, and Ms. Trinh Trịnh, Education Development Manager, Australian Trade and Investment Commission, Australian Consulate-General.

Representing Western Sydney University were Professor Brian Stout, Deputy Vice-Chancellor responsible for the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences group, Dean of the School of Social Sciences, and Liverpool campus Provost; Dr. Garth Lean, Head of the Discipline of Tourism and Heritage, Senior Lecturer in Tourism and Heritage, and Leader of the Tourism in the Digital Age and Tourism Innovation Research Group, School of Social Sciences; and Ms. Trang Nguyễn, Senior Recruitment Manager for Indochina, International Admissions Office, Western Sydney University.

Representing Saigon University were Associate Professor Dr. Phạm Hoàng Quân, President of the University; Associate Professor Dr. Lê Minh Triết, Vice President of the University; leaders of the Head Office, the Office of Student Affairs, and the International Training and Cooperation Center; as well as leaders and lecturers from the Faculty of Culture and Tourism.

At the ceremony, both parties committed to close cooperation in all areas of research, teaching, internships, and student and faculty exchange, etc. This partnership creates opportunities and fosters favorable conditions for teachers and learners of Saigon University to access advanced academic values in line with international standards, preparing them to become high-quality human resources for the modern and integrated labor market. It also serves the goal of fulfilling Western Sydney University’s transnational education strategy. Following the official establishment of this cooperative relationship, the two universities agreed to continue meeting and discussing in greater detail the cooperation opportunities that have been identified.
