About the Establishment and Development

Faculty of Natural Sciences Pedagogy was established on 01/8/2007 with the Decision No. 180 / DHSG-TC signed by the Rector of Saigon University on 26/7/2007 to meet the development requirements of the University in the new period. The mission of the Faculty is the assistant and consultant of the Rector in management, summarization, recommendation and implementation of the works in the field of teacher training for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology as well as Human resource management and prescribed synchronization conditions.

Currently, the Faculty is in charge of education and training formal and in-service undergraduated students in three specialized domains of Pedagogy as Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Laboratory equipment has been upgrading more perfectly, focusing onpracticing and scientific research for lecturers and students.

Mission

Pedagogical Faculty of Natural Sciences is one of professional units of Saigon University, which has following functions and duties:

• Administrative management based on prescribed charters of the University of Saigon and management decentralization of the Rector.
• Management the equipment and facilities for training under the authority assigned by the Rector
• Management the staff, lecturers and students as assigned by the Principal.
• Organizing and implementing training programs (Bachelor degree):
• Teacher for Secondary School in Physics, Chemistry, Biology.
• Teacher for High School in Physics, Chemistry, Biology
• Teacher for Physics, Chemistry, Biology in-service program.
• Improvement the training programs, developing the schemes, compiling documents and curriculum as developing – oriented strategies of the University with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; upgrading the teaching and learning methods; setting up and implementing methods to assess students’ learning and training as committed output standardizations to meet the demand of the labor market and society.
• Establishing and performing the scientific research activities.
• Developing high qualified staff targets, diversified fields of training as well asmodern facilities; enhancing conditions for qualified training.
• Planning and carrying out the political, ideological, moral and lifestyle education for staffs, lecturers and students; and fostering professional qualification for the staff and lecturers.

The Department is also responsible for coordinating with other units in the University to perform other assigned tasks.
