THE VIETNAM-AUSTRALIA STARTUP & INNOVATION ASSOCIATION
HAD A WORKING VISIT TO SAIGON UNIVERSITY

On September 16th, 2025, Saigon University (SGU) warmly welcomed the delegates from the Vietnam–Australia Startup and Innovation Association (VASIA) for a working visit. Representing VASIA were Mr. Anthony Khoa Phan, Founder, and Mr. Hua Thien Toan, Co-founder and Chief of VASIA’s Vietnam Office.

On behalf of Saigon University, the meeting was hosted by Assoc. Prof. Le Minh Triet, Vice Rector, and Mr. Le Khoa Huan, Director of the International Cooperation and Training Center.

In the meeting, VASIA and SGU discussed key topics, with a focus on promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, and educational cooperation between Vietnam and Australia. Specific discussions included: Connecting the Vietnam–Australia business network to support student startups, particularly in potential fields such as tourism, technology, services, and education; Organizing seminars, workshops, and startup training programs at Saigon University to help students develop innovative thinking, entrepreneurial skills, and experiences from international experts; Developing study tours and experiential learning programs in Australia, offering SGU students and lecturers opportunities to explore the country’s dynamic startup ecosystem; Enhancing research collaboration and startup ideas, aiming to establish a Vietnam–Australia university startup network.

Both parties agreed to continue detailed discussions to develop a comprehensive and long-term cooperation plan to support SGU students in building entrepreneurial capacities, connecting with international businesses, and enhancing global competitiveness.

The meeting concluded successfully, marking an important beginning in the partnership between Saigon University and VASIA, contributing to the internationalization of education and the development of a creative and innovative human resource base for Vietnam in the new era.
